Retiree

As a retiree, you may have questions we can answer or confusions we can clear up. The sections below will take you easily and quickly to the information you need.

SHARP

The Supplemental Healthcare Adventist Retirement Plan (SHARP) gives qualifying retirees assistance toward paying for healthcare insurance premiums and other healthcare costs. A key benefit, for a qualifying retiree, is that the Adventist Retirement Plans will fund a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). The Medicare eligible retiree and spouse will access Medicare supplemental plans through the Aon Retiree Health Exchange. The HRA is managed through Aon Retiree Health Exchange.

Here are some important points about the plan:

  • To participate:
    • You must be a retiree taking part in either the NAD Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution Plan.
    • You must have a minimum of 15 years of Service Credit to qualify for SHARP.
    • You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B.
  • SHARP provides the option for you to enroll in a Dental, Vision & Hearing (DVH Option) benefit.
